This 70-year-old Atlanta, Georgia-based attorney is better known as “Lin” Wood.

A personal injury attorney by nature, Wood has had some spectacular clients during his 50-plus years as an attorney: Richard Jewell, the parents of Jon-Benet Ramsey (John and Patsy), and the late Harman Cain.

Lin Wood is an unabashed “conspiracy theorist.”

Here are some of the aging attorney’s conspiracy theories: serial pedophile Jeffery Epstein is alive and well; Chief Justice John Roberts murdered the late Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, the QAnon Conspiracy Theory (that a Democratic pedophile cult operating out of a pizza parlor in Washington, D.C. controls the “Deep State” running the country); and that he may actually be “the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.”

These are some Wood’s publicly shared conspiracy theories. God only knows what he believes in the solitude of darkness. It is almost certain that many other such conspiracies rampage through his mind as he recalls coming home when he was 16-years-old to discover that his abusive alcoholic father had beaten his mother to death—a crime for which the father served a little more than two years in prison.

The attorney’s latest conspiracy theory is that Vice-President Mike Pence, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Chief Justice Roberts have “conspired” to deny President Donald J. Trump a second term in office. Wood said Vice President Pence is so guilty of treason that he should be summarily executed by firing squad.

Wood has been a member of a legal team for the president—including but not limited to Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis—trying to invalidate what has been called the “most honest and secure presidential election” in history; an election whose validity has been upheld twice by the U.S. Supreme Court and more than 70 other federal and state court judges in the nation.

In the midst of a viral pandemic that claimed nearly 400,000 lives and left 20 million people infected (the highest infection rate in the world), with food lines stretching for miles, and the lives of millions of people torn asunder, 2020 must be remembered as a year when a pandemic of political insanity also gripped the nation.

That an attorney—who claims to be the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and that the Chief Justice murdered a fellow justice and that the Vice-President should be executed by firing squad—could be part of a presidential defense team trying to convince the nation and its judicial system that 74 million votes is actually more than 81 million votes is the quintessential definition of political insanity.

Worse yet, that tens of millions of people actually share the same views as Lin Wood takes political insanity to farthest outer limits of the universe in search of a definition.

There have been worse years in American history: 1838 Cherokee Trail of Tears; 1919 an Influenza killed 20 million people; 1943 the year of more than 240 interracial battles across the country and at military bases along with the Zoot Suit riots in Los Angeles, Detroit and Harlem; and 1968 that produced political assassinations, street riots and violence, and the election of the proven racist Richard Nixon.

But no year in American history has such political insanity gripped and nearly squeezed the soul out of this nation’s social, political and institutional values.

I have one final thing to say about 2020: it should have a swift kick in the ass as it departs into the insanity zone of history.

Numbers don’t lie. They are not fake or a hoax.

2 is more than 1; 3 is more than 2; 4 is more than 3.

That is a mathematical fact not subject to debate.

Political elections are decided by numbers; specifically, by the number of ballots cast.

President Donald J. Trump says the 74,196,153 votes he received in the 2020 presidential election are the most votes any incumbent president has ever received.

That is a fact—a rare truth uttered by the president.

However, President-Elect Joe Biden received 81,255,933 votes in that same election—that is 7,059,780 more votes than President Trump received making him the “winner” of the election.

That is a fact—a truth supported by a host of federal agencies, federal and state law enforcement officials, and even by a “few” of the president’s political allies.

Here is another fact: in addition to Joe Biden running against President Trump in the 2020 election, there were an additional 34 candidates from across the country representing a host of other political parties or ideologies who ran against the president.

That is, I suspect, the most opposition candidates challenging any incumbent president.

These 34 candidates received 2,481,109 votes against Trump. There was also an additional 169,000-plus write-in votes cast against the president.

This is a fact: 9,708,889 more people in the 2020 election voted against Trump than voted for him.

This is yet another fact: in the 2016 presidential election President Trump received 62,979,636 votes while Hilary Clinton received 65,844,610 votes—a loss margin of 2,864,974 in the popular vote. Three other candidates in that election received 6,678,550 votes. That means 9,543,524 more people voted against Trump in 2016 than voted for him, although he managed to win the presidency with 306 Electoral College votes.

Here is the final scientific, mathematical fact in this post: President Trump has faced the American people in two presidential elections. Each time more than 9.5 million Americans voted against him than voted for him. That’s a total of 19,252,413 more Americans who did not want Trump as their president.

Those are the numbers. They do not lie.

“Read ‘em and weep” as the Gambler says.

The phrase literally means we should not prejudge the value or significance of something by its outward appearance.

The wife and I love oleander plants. We have seven planted in front of our home. They produce beautiful red and white blossoms.

LiveScience reports that the Nerium oleander produces “crimson, magenta or creamy white” blossoms. Its outward appearance is incredibly beautiful, but, as LiveScience says, it is “one of the most toxic plants in the world.” From stem to its sap, the plant is “incredibly poisonous” whose ingestion, or even inhalation of its smoke, can be fatal.

So, my advice is “don’t judge a Nerium oleander by its cover.”

The same can be said about most but certainly not all people.

For example, if you look at media photos of a Trump attorney (reportedly disavowed) named Sidney Powell, a QAnon conspiracy theory follower, you would almost instantly conclude that she has serious mental health challenges in need of immediate therapeutic attention.

But that would be judging a book by its cover. When she opens her mouth, however, and speaks about the 2020 presidential election, she leaves no doubt that she is utterly, absolutely, totally “batshit crazy.”

Consider one of her latest public statements aired on the December 1^st Rachel Maddow Show:

“Dear Mr. President

“WE will not stand by and watch Foreign and Domestic enemies further destroy our Constitutional Republic.

“Eighty or more million of us request that you use the Insurrection Act, suspend the December Electoral College Vote, and set up Military Tribunals immediately to properly investigate and resolve the cyber warfare 11-3-20 election issue.

“Further, we request you suspend the Jan 6 GA Senate Runoff Race, and January Inauguration until this issue is resolved.

“Respectfully,

“We The People”

Powell, and her legion of Deep State conspiracy theory associates, would like the 2020 presidential election declared “null and void,” have all Republicans who say the election was fair and honest summarily executed, install military tribunals with the power to investigate and summarily execute all Democrats who participated in the voting process, install the President for life, and force every Democrat in the country to be branded with “Make America Great Again” across their foreheads.

That is Sidney Powell’s definition of a “Constitutional Republic.”

Sidney Powell looks batshit crazy and is, in fact, batshit crazy—a term the Urban Dictionary defines as a person who is “certifiably nuts.”

That is where we are folks!

Honest and loyal Republicans, who have testified to the honesty of the 2020 presidential election, being threatened, the lives of their families being threatened, and their professional careers being destroyed by other Republicans so far adrift in extremism that there will never be a rational lifeline that can return them to the shores of reality.

They are, for want of a better description, incurably batshit crazy.

Worse yet, somewhere between 5o to 70 percent of so-called honest, rational Republicans do not believe the 2020 presidential election was “free and fair.” This despite the fact that the nation’s Republican-controlled intelligence community, the FBI, the Justice Department, a  dozen or more federal and state judges (some appointed by Trump), a laundry list of Republican governors, officials, and legislators have all declared that the election was both free and fair.

I suspect, and with a long history to support the suspicion, that the Republicans (most of who are white) do not believe the election was “free and fair” because so any black people exercised their constitutional right to vote.

And, now amidst all this batshit crazy social and racial anger, hate, and hostility, America must confront and deal with a deadly virus pandemic that has also gone batshit crazy.

So if you see someone that looks batshit crazy, I suggest you assume they are.

A social media platform pockmarked with social lunatics and political idiots. More cogent conversations can be heard in the recesses of American prisons than some of those exchanged in Facebook posts.

I haven’t said anything in the wake of the 2020 presidential election. Did not want to gloat or poke fingers in the eyes of the losers.

The election did teach Americans and the rest of the world one simple truth: that as a society, Americans are roiled in racism of every stripe and culturally divided to an extent that may well be irreparable.

But leave it to a stupid mother…ker like Paul Ewell to bring me out of my shell of social silence.

Ewell was the former dean of the Virginia Wesleyan University Global Campus until he was forced to resign in the wake of the following Facebook post (since deleted):

“If you were ignorant, anti-American, and anti-Christian enough to vote for Biden, I really don’t want to be your social friend on social media. I wouldn’t hang out with you in real life, I don’t want to hang out with you virtually either. You have corrupted the election. You have corrupted our youth. You have corrupted our country. I have standards and you don’t meet them. Please remove yourself.”

This quote was, according to CNN, first reported by the Virginian-Pilot newspaper.

I don’t know anything about this Wesleyan University or Paul Ewell. His Facebook post tells me all I need to know about him and the university that hired him.

Roughly 150 million Americans made their choice. Our own intelligence watchdog agencies have informed us that the 2020 election was the most secure and honest election in modern American history.

More people chose Biden over Trump. It was their fundamental constitutional right to make that choice. Paul Ewell has a First Amendment right to say or feel whatever he wants but there are consequences to masturbating in public. Ask former CNN analyst Jeffery Toobin.

Ewell was not expressing a free speech right; rather he was publicly shaking his dick at any and all those who voted for Joe Biden.

Who in this world could possibly give a single penny worth a damn about whether they meet Paul Ewell’s “standards”, or the standards of any other like-minded individuals.

But, sadly, there is not only a Facebook audience for the hate-driven speech of Paul Ewell but a larger public marketplace for it in today’s America.

I’ve said my piece; namely, that I am not a friend of Paul Ewell and all those who share his point of view.

Now, I’ve got more urgent things to do. There is a small herd of deer, most of whom I’m on a first name basis with, waiting for me to bring their morning breakfast of deer corn and fresh water. My dogs have even come to accept the deer as part of our extended family.

There are benefits to social distancing. I don’t have to worry about encountering any Paul Ewells in the public marketplace.
